gps hand held?
anyone havea gps hand held unit?
which one?
such as Garmin , Magellan , etc…
do you like it?
I have owned 12 hand held GPSs over the past 15 years. Currently I own 5 of them and teach classes. I highly recommend Garmin brand GPSs as they seem to be the easiest to use and have the most competitive pricing for the features. I would suggest to take a look at the Rino series (120,130, 530 etc.), which are handheld GPSs that also have a FRS/GMRS radio in them. What's really nice about them is that they can transmit their location to one another thus be of great assistance when hiking, hunting, fishing, and a lot of other situations. Otherwise the 60Cx, 60CSx and the 60c are very good. I always recommend one with a Helix antenna as they have been found to be more accurate. Antennae that are built into the unit tend to have a bit less accuracy overall. I suggest you look at the address that I supplied for more information.

gps hand held units?
im looking for a decently priced gps hand held. preferably one under four hundred bucks and has a compass, altimeter, preinstalled mapping for national parks if possible.
also, something that is water proof. although, from what ive seen, most of them are. at least for the hiker ones anyways.
Hey midnightoker,
you might try Sharper Image, Bass Pro Shops and I think the store is Outdoors Unlimited. Hope you find what you need. I got mine through a cop friend…we used to do a lot of hiking.
